New structure streamlines governance and supports Nexwell’s core mission to decarbonize the planet

Nexwell, a sustainable investment platform committed to decarbonization, has completed the consolidation of its portfolio companies and investment initiatives under a single Investment Holding Company platform, Nexwell LLC, and raised over €60millions of new capital in equity and preferred shares from a consortium of investors.  

Since its founding in 2019, Nexwell has been a purpose-driven decarbonization investment company that accelerates climate change solutions and believes in scaling efficiently to generate substantial impact. The new Investment Holding Company structure is expected to support the company’s growth and resulting decarbonization impact.

“The new Investment Holding Company structure is expected to streamline governance, enhance knowledge transfer and facilitate capital-raising for future investments in order to scale efficiently,” said Charlie Williams, Executive Chair of Nexwell. “This will contribute to our goal to reach > 1 billion tons of CO2 avoided or sequestered by the end of the next decade.”

Nexwell has established three successful operating platforms, either from inception or through partnerships, including a major investment in Cox Energy.  The company is also incubating a groundbreaking initiative poised to sequester hundreds of millions of tons of CO2. Nexwell’s current portfolio spans investments in the development, construction, financing, owning and operation of utility scale solar power and battery storage plants; installation and ownership of residential, commercial and industrial solar; direct air carbon capture technology; and the developmentof large scale on-shore and near-shore carbon sequestration sites.
